In short
To get a BTnet leased line quote, send us your site address and postcode and what you use the connection for, plus any views on speed, plan, resilience and contract term. We check availability, then set out the options in a written quote. BT's site survey follows your order and confirms the route and any extra work.

What we need from you
The two details that matter most are your site address and postcode and what you use the connection for. Everything else helps us get the first quote closer to the final one, so add what you can:
- Site address and postcode. Availability, delivery route and lead time all depend on the exact building, so give us the full address and, in a multi-let building, the floor or unit.
- What the connection is for. How many people and devices, cloud apps and Microsoft 365, video meetings, phones over the internet, backups, CCTV, guest Wi-Fi, servers that others connect to.
- Speed now and later. A rough idea is enough. If you expect to grow, tell us, so we can suggest a bearer with headroom for Bandwidth Flex.
- Plan preference. Whether you want to run your own router or firewall (wires only), a managed Cisco router, or Meraki with BTnet Security, and whether you want BTnet Wi-Fi.
- Resilience. What happens if the line goes down, and whether you want a second line for failover, load balancing or back-up.
- Contract term. The term you have in mind, or ask us to price more than one.
- Building and landlord. Whether you own or lease the building, who the landlord or managing agent is, and where the comms room or equipment space is.
- Timing. When you need the line live, for example an office move, a lease date or a phone system project.
If you are not sure what speed you need, our bandwidth sizing guide helps you work it out, or simply describe how you work and we will suggest options.
What happens after you contact us
From first enquiry to a live line, the steps run in this order:
- We talk through your needs. We confirm the details above and fill any gaps, so the quote matches how you work.
- We check availability at your address. BT gives up-front lead-time predictions based on averages for the area and a desktop survey of the site. See check BTnet availability.
- You receive a written quote. It sets out the options we discussed, the charges and what is still subject to survey.
- You choose and place the order. BT may carry out credit vetting and can ask for a deposit or guarantee.
- BT surveys the site. The site survey confirms the route into the building and where the equipment will go, and shows whether extra engineering or a wayleave agreement is needed.
- Any excess construction is agreed. Charges within the limit in your order go ahead; above it, BT re-quotes and you decide.
- BT gives a Customer Committed Date and carries out the engineering work.
- The service is installed, tested and accepted. You have five Business Days for acceptance tests, after which the Service Start Date applies.
Our BTnet installation process guide covers each step in more detail, and how long a BTnet leased line takes to install explains how dates are set.
What your quote will show
A BTnet quote is easier to compare with your budget, and with other options within BTnet, once you know what each line means:
| Item | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Bearer | The access circuit to your site and its maximum capacity, for example a 1Gbps Ethernet fibre bearer |
| Port speed | The symmetrical bandwidth you are buying on that bearer |
| Plan and equipment | Wires only, BTnet + Cisco router or BTnet Meraki + BTnet Security, and who manages what |
| Options | BTnet Security, BTnet Wi-Fi and any extra IP addressing |
| Resilience | Any secondary access line and how it is configured |
| Minimum Period of Service | The term your charges are fixed for, unless the order says otherwise |
| One-off charges | Service Introduction Charges, invoiced from the Service Start Date |
| Regular charges | The recurring rental for the service and options |
| ECC limit | Any limit you agree for excess construction charges, if BT's survey finds extra work is needed |
| Delivery picture | What is known about lead time before survey; firm dates come from BT later |
We explain each item when we send the quote, including what is fixed and what depends on the survey. For the factors behind the figures, see BT leased line cost; for the terms behind them, see BTnet contract terms.

We will match the right plan to your requirements and quote for it.
Before you ask: questions worth settling
You do not need every answer before asking for a quote, but a little thought up front saves time later:
- Who will manage the router and firewall: you, your IT provider or BT?
- Do you need static IP addresses for VPNs, remote access or allow-listing? Static IPv4 addresses come as standard. See static IP addresses on BTnet.
- Would a lost connection stop the business? If so, ask about resilience at the same time, as it changes the survey and the quote.
- Will card payments run over the connection? BT's terms say BTnet is not PCI DSS compliant, so card data needs its own controls.
- Do you need landlord consent for work in the building?
Our leased line buying checklist covers the full list, with links to the pages that answer each question.
Quotes for moves, landlords and several sites
Some quotes need a little more preparation:
- Moving office. Give us the new address as early as you can. Lead times can run to weeks or months, and a move has its own terms. See moving office with a BTnet leased line.
- Leased or multi-let buildings. Install work in a building you do not own usually needs the owner's written agreement. Starting the conversation with your landlord early keeps the date on track.
- Several sites. We can quote BTnet for each site and set them out together. See BTnet for multi-site organisations.
- Phones moving at the same time. If you are also moving to BT Cloud Voice, we can look at both together, because your calls will depend on the new connection.

Why ask Forever Communications for your quote
Forever Communications is an Authorised Supplier for BT and part of Forever Group. A leased line quote is the start of a long relationship with your connection, and we treat it that way: we start with how you work, help you size the bandwidth for today and for growth, explain the difference between the plans in plain words, and set out what BT's survey could change before you sign.
Once you have ordered, we can keep you updated on BT's survey and dates, help you prepare the site, and help after go-live with changes such as Bandwidth Flex, adding security or Wi-Fi, moves and SLA claims under BT's terms. Read more on why buy BTnet from Forever Communications.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get a BT leased line quote?
Send us your site address and postcode and tell us what you use the connection for. We check availability and send a written quote setting out the options. BT's site survey follows the order.
Can I get a leased line quote online?
Yes. Use our contact form with your postcode and what you need. Because each line is built for a particular site, we check availability at your address rather than showing an instant price.
Is the price in my BTnet quote final?
The quote sets out the charges for the service you choose. If BT's survey finds extra engineering is needed, excess construction charges can apply: within the limit in your order BT proceeds, and above it BT re-quotes and you decide.
Do I need to know what speed I need before asking?
No. Tell us how you work and we will suggest a port speed and a bearer with room to grow. Our bandwidth sizing guide helps if you want to think it through first.
Does asking for a quote place an order?
No. A quote is information for you to consider. The order you sign is what starts the service, and its terms are set out in BT's contract documents.
Can you quote for a second line for resilience?
Yes. We can include BT's failover, load balancing or lower-speed back-up options in the same quote. See resilient BTnet.
